Jan was born in Adelaide and began oil painting seriously while living in Alice Springs in the early 1980’s.Her first solo exhibition was in 2000 celebrating her life-long love of colour.

Since 2001 Jan has travelled extensively in Europe to paint and collect images of landscapes, street scenes, café life and medieval hilltop villages. She has held and continues to hold, annual solo exhibitions to show these works.

Jan now lives in a 150 year old ‘Stationmaster’s House’ in Yass. Her home includes her studio and private gallery – The Old Stationmaster’s Gallery.

Her new country life has inspired Jan to return to painting country landscapes and quaint cottages. Jan has also continued to paint her highly popular beach scenes.
