Fire-Break,-Mullion_thumbYass Valley artist, Kim Nelson, had been listed as a finalist in the prestigious 2014 NSW Parliament ‘Plein Air’ Prize with his artwork ‘Fire Break, Mullion, NSW’.
Minister for Primary Industries & Small Business and Member for Burrinjuck, Katrina Hodgkinson, said she was delighted, in a media release this week.
“This painting is an outstanding work of art . . . It’s great to see the beautiful Yass Valley being highlighted as part of an exhibition that is so highly respected in the art world.”
Kim Nelson’s painting, along with 41 other finalists, will form a public exhibition at Parliament House in Sydney from 10 June to 1 August 2014.
The winner will be announced at a special function at the NSW Parliament on Wednesday 18 June.
