Congratulations to Yass Valley Shire artist John Forrester Clack upon winning the Capital Chemist Art Prize (formerly the Brindabella Art Prize). Dan the Green KnightJohn’s winning work entitled Dan ‘the green’ Knght is a portrait of his friend Dan, an old art college mate. “He is a true artist, without trying to be one. He has been through hell and yet has such presence and spiritual beauty.” Clack said of his friend.

Trying to get more information from John is hard. He is a private person and explains that he is not one for words. “My paintings say what I want to say,” he said. Born in Wales, John Forrester Clack completed a Master of Arts at the Royal College of Art, London in 1986. He arrived in Australia soon afterwards and has devoted most of his life to painting ever since.

The exhibition runs until 7th June. Click Here for further information via the Tuggeranong Art Centre website
