Oddfellows’ presents:
Faye Blais & Genevieve Chadwick in Concert
YES! Believe it or not, Canadian indie-folk singer/ songwriter Faye Blais is returning to Yass and she will be joined by blues/roots/rock talent Genevieve Chadwick, an extraordinary young performer on the cusp of greatness. Joe Chindamo Trio.
Joe Chindamo ranks amongst the world’s best jazz pianists and composers. His many gifts as composer, arranger and improviser enable him to skate between musical genres with deftness and integrity, creating a unique music which eschews boundaries. ‘Polifemy Sings’ @ St Clements Anglican Church
Polifemy, a small chamber ensemble of female singers presenting a concert of Medieval and Renaissance music celebrating the season of Easter.
Selected pieces will be accompanied by Rachel Walker on bass viola da gamba, and to complement this programme Robyn Mellor, recorder, will perform Ricercares of Bassano and Ortiz.
This is a unique opportunity to listen to some amazing musicians in a very special venue.

The RAG Holmes Tribute Concert.
Trio Empyrean with David Pereira, Andrew and Wendy Lorenz
The Trio was formed in 2008 and brings together three of Australia’s most experienced and respected ensemble musicians. Friends since their student years at the Sydney Conservatorium, each has gained national recognition in both solo and ensemble capacities. Sharing a passion for the chamber idiom and now all resident in the Canberra region, the three have taken the opportunity to pool their collective experience in forming Trio Empyrean and David will be playing the Rag Holmes Cello.

Yass Music Club
Tim Kain – Guitar
Tim Kain is a renowned Australian guitarist who was initially inspired by popular music and flamenco. After graduating from ANU he lived in Spain and England where he pursued his studies. Tim has built up an international reputation as a soloist and chamber musician and his performing and teaching activities have taken him all over the world. In 1992 he was invited to join John Williams’ seven piece group “Attacca” and subsequently formed a duo with John, touring extensively in the UK and Australia and later releasing internationally their award-winning CD. .

The Melbourne Comedy Festival Roadshow in Yass
A great night of big laughs at the Yass Memorial Hall . A cast of intrepid travelling comedians will make ‘your ribcage rattle’.

The Maruka Orchestra
The Maruka Community Orchestra (MCO) is an innovative community symphony orchestra devoted to all musicians in Canberra region – regardless of age, experience and skill level, who have strong interests in playing classical musical instruments in an orchestra environment and who wish to develop their skills and express their musicality.
John Gould is the conductor, creator and mentor of the MCO. John began his career as a violinist in the Sydney Symphony Orchestra in 1958. He is now a teaching fellow at the ANU. This will be an inspirational treat!

Yass Music Club: The Katherine Holmes and Mary Reid Memorial Concert

This wonderful Yass family group represents such a wealth of talent and experience that it would be difficult to equal it anywhere else in the world. The internationally renowned Israeli born Professor Uzi Wiesel, who has studied with Pablo Casals and is revered for his expertise in playing and teaching of the cello, will be joined by his son Arnan Wiesel, himself a highly distinguished pianist and the winner of many international prizes. Alice Giles, married to Arnan, is the third member of this trio and has been describes as “The most intelligent, sensitive and technically accomplished harpist I have ever met.” and is acclaimed as one of the world’s leading harp soloists. What a night this promises to be!
