Cathy Lee has lived in Binalong for the past twenty years, and for as long as she can remember has painted and drawn. She is mainly self taught but was fortunate enough to have had a couple of year’s tuition from veteran artist Roger Moore. Moore showed Cathy many techniques and gave her a lot of encouragement to keep painting.

Cathy receives inspiration from objects and nature around her. She is inspired by colour and shape and is always looking at things from the point of view of painting. Still life is Cathy’s passion though she admits she tries to make them look slightly different from traditional still life.

She has exhibited with The Art of Living Gallery in Binalong, along with other local artists in a combined exhibition and is looking forward to exhibiting more of her work in the near future. She is never happier than when she’s painting and creating something special. “Its such a fantastic feeling” says the artist.
