‘PEOPLE’S CHOICE’ AWARD

The two month ‘YASSarts SPRING!’ promotion finishedTassie Tigers by Ross Fairly (Photo Alex Tewes on Sunday 26th October and with it the incredibly popular ‘Sculpture in the Paddock’ expo at the National Trust property ‘Cooma Cottage’ near Yass.  Sculpture in the Paddock ran from 3-26 October and during that period an estimated 4000 visitors came to the property.  Winner of the ‘People’s Choice’ award was ‘Tassie Tigers’ by Ross Fairly of Jugiong.  As you can imagine, it took some time to tally all the votes!

FINAL WEEKEND of YASSarts SPRING!

The 25th & 26th of October is the official end of a two month list of activities.  It has been brilliant and very successful. This is just some of what you can check out this weekend:

SCULPTURE IN THE PADDOCK events
@ ‘Cooma Cottage’   756 Yass Valley Way, Yass.  Open from 10.00am – 4.00pm

 WORKSHOPS FOR THE KIDS!  |  Saturday the 25th and Sunday 26th October
Come along and join in some sensational sculptural fun!, Melanie Lyons (Saturday) and Nicolette Benjamin Black (Sunday) will be offering children a chance to use their imaginations to turn everyday materials into 3D Art.
Enjoy playing, discovering and expressing yourself with materials such as boxes, egg cartons, plastic containers and bits and bobs found in most homes.
Come along anytime between 10am – 2pm either dayand help create a large collaborative sculpture or create your own small sculpture to take home.

ARTIST TALKS  |  Saturday the 25th October – 11.00am
Artists Max Cullen and Margarita Georgiadis will host an ‘Artist Talk’ session at Sculpture in the Paddock.
They will give the artists a chance to discuss their workand answer questions from the public

LOCAL ARTIST RECEIVES INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION

SCULPTURE in the PADDOCK 2014 WINNER

Stephen Harrison & Prof. David WilliamsSculptor Stephen Harrison is the winner of the YASSarts  ‘Sculpture in the Paddock’ 2014 with his artwork ‘The Three Horseman Conference’.  Roger Buckmnan received a Highly Commended for his work ‘Roundabout Sheep’ and Dan Moor won the chance to stage an exhibition at the Tuggeranong Arts Centre in 2015.
The ‘People’s Award ‘ prize will be announced at the end of the show so get along to this brilliant exhibition and vote for your favourite.  Support Art & Culture in the Region!
